Guwahati: Guwahati City Police apprehended two key members of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People's War Group–KCP PWG), a Maoist separatist militant outfit involved in extortion and arms-related crimes in Manipur.

One of the arrested individuals was identified as Meisnam Bungochouba Singh, 42, an arms supplier and a resident of Bishnupur.

The second accused was identified as Techsa Ibomcha Singh, 42, a senior commander of KCP (PWG), wanted in multiple cases of extortion and arms-related offences, resident of Village Pukhao, PS Sagolmang, District Imphal East.

Police sources said that the operation, executed with precision based on inputs from Gajraj Military Intelligence, prevented any potential threat posed by these individuals. 

However, there were no recoveries reported yet following their arrest. Police said that further investigations are being carried out.
